Summer Fruit Information: Know Before You Go!
Picking fruits on the farm is a must-do summer activity here in the south! And, there’s no better place than here on our 330-acre working farm in McDonough, GA. In addition to our u-pick fruits, we have outdoor activities, summer treats, Country Market goods, and friendly barnyard animals! Before heading out to our farm, please take a look at our hours & pricing information.

- Sunday: 1pm-5pm
- Father’s Day (June 19): CLOSED
*as long as we have ripe fruit!

To enter our U-Pick Fields, there is a small admission fee of $1.00. If you are interested in visiting us often this season, we recommend our U-Pick Season Pass, available for only $4.95. Passes can be used for patch admission during any picking season within the year purchased!

Don’t forget – We also have a U-Pick Flower field filled with colorful zinnias. Purchase a souvenir cup and fill it with our gorgeous U-pick zinnias so you can display fresh flowers in your homes or gift a bouquet to a friend!

How U-Pick Works
Before coming out to the farm, always check the top banner on our website for updates on which fruit is available as this varies from day to day depending on weather & availability. Picking is easy. All you have to do is decide what you would like to pick and we provide buckets and/or containers for your desired amount of fruit. Blackberries do not ripen once they are picked and will pull free from the plant with only a slight tug. You’ll want to look for plump, full, firm blackberries that are red all over! Same goes for blueberries – make sure they are blue all the way around.
Once you have your container, you’re ready to head out to the patch and fill it with the sweetest fruits in the south!
Parking is always free and is right in front of our Country Market. Head over to a small shed next to the market to get started. Our friendly staff will be waiting to get you set up to pick and answer any questions. And, don’t forget to visit our market before or after picking fruit for local goods, homemade ice cream & treats, seasonal produce, our very own jams, jellies, and preserves, gifts, and much more. Be sure to try our peach cobbler and our blackberry cobbler while they are available!

What Else Is There to Do on the Farm?
So glad you asked! In addition to our U-Pick fruits, we have some outdoor activities available this summer.
Bring the kids to meet our barnyard animals at Belle’s Barn. Southern Belle is home to horses, chickens, donkeys, cows, goats, and more! There is no additional fee to meet our animal friends and they are always happy to see visitors. We have animal feed available for purchase if your party is interested in treating our barnyard animals during your visit. We also have handwashing stations available
after your visit so you can clean up before heading out to the patch to pick fruit!

Another fun activity available this summer is our Gem Mining Experience. Mine for shark teeth, gems, and arrowheads at the sluice! This attraction is available during weekends only:
- Saturdays: 10am-5pm
- Sundays: 1-5pm
Gem Mining Details:
Small Mining: $7.95
- Prospector Bag – 2 lb bag yields about 3 oz of gemstones.
- Fossil Find Bag – 3 lb bag yields about 4 oz of fossil mix, including sharks teeth
- Arrowhead Bag – 3 lb bag yields about 7 stone arrowheads.
Medium Mining: $13.95
- Lucky Strike Bag – 5 lb bag yields about 9oz of gemstones.
- Fossil Dig Bag – 5 lb bag yields about 8 oz of fossil mix, including shark teeth.
Large Mining: $29.95
MotherLode Bag – 10 lb bag yields about 10 oz gems, 4 oz fossils, ½ oz sharks teeth, 2 arrowheads, 1 large amethyst
Small and Medium Mining includes one screen box to use at the sluice. These must be returned when finished mining. You may rent an additional box for $1 per box.
Large Mining includes two screen boxes to use at the sluice. These must be returned when finished mining. You may rent an additional box for $1 per box.

It won’t be long before our muscadines come in! We expect them to make their appearance in late August/early September. We’ll update everyone on our social pages when they are ready to pick!
