We’re Giving Our First Fruits to First Responders!

During this trying time, we can all use a little uplifting and kindness. While we have not been able to run things on our farm as we usually do during spring, we were honored to partner with Pretoria Fields Collective and the Pretoria Fields Farm House to deliver our first fruits to our frontline heroes! The folks at Pretoria are helping us deliver strawberries to hospital workers, police officers, and firefighters. Click the video above to learn more!

We hope that something as simple as a basket of strawberries can help show our frontline workers that we appreciate everything they do to keep our community safe & healthy. If you are reading this and are a first responder or essential worker—Southern Belle Farm Thanks YOU!

“Safety First” Is Our Top Priority

As we strive to create a wholesome family environment here at the farm, we want you to know that your safety and the safety of our staff is at the top of our priorities. We are offering curbside pick-up for pre-picked strawberries and other market goods. Our U-Pick strawberry fields are also open, and we are limiting the number of people in order to practice social distancing. Guests are also welcome to come inside our Country Market to shop, but we are only allowing a certain amount of shoppers at a time. All other farm activities are postponed until further notice.

We are closely monitoring all updates from the CDC and training the farm staff on how to implement all CDC safety recommendations concerning this manner. We hope these procedures give you confidence that we are taking all necessary measures to make your safety our top priority. We look forward to seeing you this spring on the farm

Farmer Carter recently gave a crop update to explain what operations will be like during your visit. In response to the virus, we are conducting strawberry picking a little differently this season in order to practice social distancing. When you enter the farm to pick, you will pay ahead. You are welcome to bring your bucket from home or get one from us. However, we will not be exchanging buckets during the picking process. We have hand sanitizer available for you to use before entering the field as well. Our strawberry rows are marked off in different colors so we can keep track of where guests are picking. We’ll be picking one color at a time and will allow one family to enter a row at a time in order to keep everyone spaced out. We have lots of strawberry fields this year so there is plenty of space for us to spread out and remain 6 feet apart. Thank you for your corporation and understanding as we adjust to keep our staff & guests safe! We look forward to seeing you on at Southern Belle Farm soon.
